Water Country

The iced landscapes, once a beautiful tropical country, lead by the great village of Kirigakure. One can visit the ruins of the once magnificent country, or travel through the vast icy tundra.

Kirigakure Ruins

Sitting in the crater of a dormant and now dead volcano, the city of Kirigakure is broken into many islands spread across a vast, frozen lake. Black sand lines the inner edge of the crater, which catch the light and cause it to twist into bizarre colors under the ice of the lake. The buildings are frozen in place, many crumbling from the weight of ice and many more standing as silent monoliths to attest to better times. A cold wind constantly whips through the streets, and the tunnels which used to go under the water to connect the islands have almost all shattered from the pressure of the ice. People remain frozen in place in the streets, unable to leave the village in time, and other things roam now in the cold. Inhuman creatures and spirits alike, looking for life to snuff it out.

The Two Towers

The Silver Tower and Crystal Tower were two of the largest and most easily recognizable landmarks of Kirigakure. Now the Silver Tower has been sheared in half, the upper portion falling to the ground and leaving the bottom half open to the elements from above. The Crystal Tower, meanwhile, retains power even to this day. The lights are on day or night, and the doors open if one approaches. Inside people have frozen to their very desks in the middle of work, as this area was one of the first to succumb to the freeze.

Ice Breath Caverns

The caverns that run through the volcano Kirigakure sits in; these passageways are still somehow filled with flowing water and flickering lights from torches. Some have become entirely closed off from walls of ice, but for the most part they remain as they were. The main way into the city remains open, though any passing through will hear people calling to them from the side passages. People asking for help, demanding answers, or threatening others; all these and more have been heard.

Barren Tundra

Water Country used to be a tropical paradise with lush jungle land and numerous islands with various biomes to each. Now it lies dead, the water frozen in place, even the waves stilled forever and encased in ice. What few animals live here are very hard to kill, and used to surviving in this hellish land. Vegetation has become very sparse, and so many of the animals have turned to omnivores or even straight carnivores in order to survive. At the center of this land, a bright white light is always visible once you hit the ice. This is the city of Kirigakure, shining bright to lure in those unaware of it’s dangers.
